چکیده

Photoinduced charge dynamics in oneand two-dimensional organic conductors are studied theoretically in extended Peierls-Hubbard models. For quasi-one-dimensional (EDO-TTF)2PF6, photoinduced change in the charge order pattern from (0110) to (1010) is accompanied by probe-energy-dependent oscillations of conductivity. This is caused by coexistence of charge order and delocalized electrons. For quasi-two-dimensional α-(BEDTTTF)2I3 and θ-(BEDT-TTF)2RbZn(SCN)4, photoinduced melting of the horizontal-stripe charge order proceeds easier in the α-type salt than in the θ-type salt. This is because the charge order in the θ-type salt is more strongly stabilized by electron-phonon interactions.

Metal-insulator and insulator-insulator transitions in the quarter-filled band organic conductors.

The theory of the 2k F and 4k F instabilities in quarter-lled band organic conductors is revisited. The phase angles of the 2k F bond and charge density waves are shown to change as electron correlation is turned on, and this switching of the phase angle is critical for understanding the bond distortion patterns in the real materials. Intersite Coulomb interactions in the real materials must be...

Quantum phases and fluctuations in correlated electron systems with frustration and competing interactions are reviewed. In the localized moment case the S=1/2 J1 - J2 - model on a square lattice exhibits a rich phase diagram with magnetic as well as exotic hidden order phases due to the interplay of frustration and quantum fluctuations. Their signature in magnetocaloric quantities and the hig...

Paired electron crystal: Order from frustration in the quarter-filled band

We present a study of the effects of simultaneous charge and spin frustration on the two-dimensional strongly correlated quarter-filled band on an anisotropic triangular lattice. Our conclusions are based on exact diagonalization studies that include electron-electron interactions as well as adiabatic electron-phonon coupling terms treated self-consistently. The broken-symmetry states that domi...

Bond-order and charge-density waves in the isotropic interacting two-dimensional quarter-filled band and the insulating state proximate to organic superconductivity

We report three surprising results regarding the nature of the spatial broken symmetries in the twodimensional ~2D!, quarter-filled band with strong electron-electron interactions that provides a microscopic model of the 2:1 cationic organic charge-transfer solids ~CTS’s!. First, in direct contradiction to the predictions of one-electron theory, we find a coexisting ‘‘bond-order and charge-dens...
